Micro jobs are probably one of the easiest ways to make a little extra money online.

Micro jobs are short, easy tasks that can be performed in a matter of minutes. These types of jobs, which are often referred to as “gigs,” don’t pay a whole lot, but they are so quick and easy to do that you can complete a number of them in a short amount of time.

Some examples of micro jobs include sharing articles on social media, commenting on blogs, writing brief product reviews, writing short 100-200 word articles, rating videos, completing online surveys, categorizing images and etc.

Not all micro jobs are completed online. Some micro job sites ask workers to do real-world tasks such as taking photos of a business, verifying a physical address of a business, price checking a product, and etc.

Making money with micro jobs is basically a numbers game. The trick is to find the higher paying gigs that can be completed in the shortest amount of time.

Get a Micro JobAlthough you’ll often see micro jobs that pay a few cents for a quick tasks, these jobs are often not worth it because they pay too little and take too long to complete. In the long run, they just don’t add up to much.

One thing to be wary of when doing micro jobs are scammers. Never give out your credit card information for a gig and be careful who you give your personal information to.

Amazon Mechanical Turk
Amazon’s Mechanical Turk site is a micro job site where users complete HITs, Human Intelligence Tasks, for money. These tasks involve everything from transcribing, writing short product descriptions, writing image captions, completing surveys and etc. Take the extra time to complete the qualifications to ensure that you get more higher paying HIT opportunities. Most Mechanical Turk users say that the best paying HITs on the site are writing articles and completing surveys. These micro jobs tend to take less than 15 minutes and usually pay between 50 cents to a few dollars. New workers funds are held until the user has been active on the site for 10 days, starting from the day they completed their first HIT.

Once you find one you like, click on it and submit your application. If the business hires you, you complete the gig and submit it for review. You are paid after the work is approved. Fiverr is an online marketplace where users can sell their services, including micro job services, for a $5 fee. The clients rate the gigs after they have been completed. The higher your rating, the higher your gig ranks in Fiverr’s search results. Fiverr takes a 20% commission from each completed gig.
